The MEFL Employed Student loan scheme is geared towards mature students who are working and studying part time and need funding to pay full school fee, or those who need funding to supplement existing personal funds and may not be in a position to gain access to regular bank financing for lack of ability to provide collateral.

 

Prerequisites - what individuals must have to qualify for a loan

Purpose of loan

  • Must be registered in a approved College or University
  • Must be Jamaican citizen studying in Jamaica
  • Be between the ages 18 – 60 years old
  • Have a valid ID. E.g. Voter’s ID, passport or drivers licenses
  • Have a taxpayers registration number (TRN)
  • Provide two passport size photographs.
  • Be willing to open an account at The Bank of Nova Scotia, for the purpose of making loan payments
  • Provide two character reference letters from reputable professions- MUST BE ADDRESSED TO MICRO ENTERPRISE FINANCING LIMITED
  • Last three (3) months Salary Slips and Utility bills.
